Doctor Strange MCU Timeline Revealed

The Sorcerer Supreme is set to make his debut to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this latest TV spot for Marvel's Doctor Strange, as part of the Phase 3 of the MCU, and it's filled with inception-like mind blowing effects.

Now, the question that has to be answered is in what timeline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe does the Doctor Strange film would happen? Since it happens in Phase 3 of the timeline, at first, we believed that this will happen during Civil War. But I think pieces are coming to place as the film revealed some images and clips that might prove our theory wrong.

Doctor Strange Happened in Phase 2

You heard it right. We do think that the Doctor Strange movie will be set during Phase 2. Here are some evidences that might prove that theory.

The Avengers Tower in Manhattan

Here is an image of the Avengers Tower in the Doctor Strange Comic Con footage:

As you can see in the image, the tower was seen among all the buildings that would be shifted upside down by the villain in the film played by Mads Mikkelsen. 

So now, we can assume that the movie will be set in New York...again, since we saw the Avengers tower. 

But maybe our theory might still be wrong. Maybe there's an instance that the building was vacated during the events of AOU after the Ultron attack in Sokovia, leading to Avengers moving to Upstate New York.

Maybe there would also be a hint that the event might be credited for Phase 3 and not Phase 2 since it was not included in the casualty list during the passing of the Sokovia Accords in Civil War, or it was not included because the characters of the film knows how to shape reality and change it all back to normal when everything's a total mess.

But here is another thing, I was watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier when I saw this clip of Cap and Nat interrogating Jasper Sitwell, then he mentioned someone who is a target of Project Insight.

Have you heard Stephen Strange's name being mentioned in 1:57? , it stated that Stephen Strange  is someone who is an enemy for Hydra, that's why they included him in the targets list.
