DOTA 2 : New Heroes Revealed

Overview

Just as everybody is excited from The International 6 tournament. Valve release a new Hero "Monkey King". A first original Dota 2 hero that does not ported from its previous Dota (Defence of the Ancient) game. He is scheduled to be in the Dota 2 lineup this Fall 2016.

Monkey King is based on Sun Wukong (a legendary hero from Chinese classic) like Son Goku from DBZ, Goku from Gensomaden Saiyuki and many more anime and games concept. He is also a easter egg boss fight in  6.79 DotA map and his stats were revealed in the version 6.80 beta but never added to its version. His appearance has alot of similarities from Dota 2 roaster: Phantom Lancer and maybe also based on Monkey King concept.


Sun Wukong Original Abilities

This are list of original Sun Wukong from Chinese classic that might be copied also in Dota 2 New Monkey King hero.

72 Transformation :
Allows him to shapeshift into almost any form. Often bites the hairs into pieces to create even more copies.




Fire Avoidance Charm :
Allows him to survive fire.

Fire Avoidance Charm :
Allows him to survive deep water; however, he is unable to fight while using this ability.

Body Freezing Spell : 
Allows him to immobilize enemies.

Protective Circle : 
Allows him to erect an impassible barrier by drawing a circle on the ground with his staff.

Body Outside of Body :
Specifically refers to his ability to transform his hairs into fighting clones of himself.

Summoning :
Allows him to summon local deities.

Review and Insight

Sun Wukong the Monkey King attributes and abilities is still currently unknown. Some say's he might be a Agility based hero as Carry since he does not look like doing a tank or any supporting role in the trailer teaser above. But no one knows exactly, all we know for now is we are all excited for this new hero and we are all waiting to be surprise for maybe new set of Dota 2 original hero lineup?
